riverstonetherapy collective

A small collective of therapists in Carleton Place and the Glebe.

For loss, illness, caring for someone, and the changes in between. We see adults and young people from 16, on their own, as couples, or as families, in our offices, outdoors on a walk, or online.

Sessions are $160 to $180 for 50 minutes (CAD). The first 15-minute call is free, and you don't need a referral.

In crisis? Call or text 9-8-8.

How we help

We work with grief and loss, chronic illness and pain, cancer, dementia in the family, the end of life and the people beside it, caregiver strain, trauma, stress and anxiety, and the changes in between.

Walk and talk

Some sessions happen outdoors, on the paths along the Mississippi in Carleton Place. Walking side by side, many people find it easier to talk.

We also meet one to one in the office, with couples and with families, and by video or phone anywhere in Ontario. Many sessions also include somatic work: attention to breath, posture, and sensation alongside the conversation.

    Registered Psychotherapist

Registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, CRPO #14618, accepting new clients

Sees clients in Carleton Place, at both Glebe offices, outdoors, and online.

Julia works with a lot of women, carers, and caregivers going through a change in life: a diagnosis, burnout, strain in a relationship, or something from the past that has resurfaced.

Her approach is strengths-based and trauma-informed. Sessions draw on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, mindfulness, and somatic work, and can happen in the office, outdoors on a walk, by video or by phone.

She holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and a Master of Science in Aging and Health from Queen's University.

As new therapists join, think of it as more hands arriving to help. Each will be listed here with their registration number, where they work, and who they see.

Common questions

What happens on the free call?
You book a time online and get a confirmation right away. We phone you at that time. Tell us as much or as little as you like; there's nothing to decide on the call. If it feels right, we set up a first session in person, outdoors, or online.
Do I need a referral?
No. You can book directly.
Is it covered by my benefits?
Often, yes. Check your plan for coverage of a Registered Psychotherapist, and ask us anything about it on the free call.
Can I meet online?
Yes, by video or phone, anywhere in Ontario.
Is walk-and-talk really therapy?
Yes. It's a regular session, held while walking side by side. On the free call we talk about privacy outdoors, and we choose quiet routes at a speed that suits you.
Can my partner or a parent come to a session?
Yes. We see couples and families, for anyone 16 and up. Tell us on the free call who you'd like to bring.
